If it appears to be a major problem (during other than no nbl <br />working hours), consideration should be given to ~:.anning <br />the Commercial Office switching the telephone divzrter (if <br />applicable), so calls will be received locally, and <br />activate the base radio station. <br />b. Notification should be given to the appropriate personnel <br />to report for work and equip their vehicles ~•~ith emergency <br />tools and stand by for further instructions. (The noti- <br />fication procedures outlined in Section IV should be <br />followed.) It is most important to utilize radio-equipped <br />vehicles and make usage of portable radios. <br />c. If the base station is inoperable, an alternate station <br />• utilizing a mobile unit should bn established. <br />d. Sales and office personnel may b2 utilized to ans~ier phones <br />and to stand by radio-equipped vehicles in order to <br />relieve crews for other duties. <br />ACTION TO BE TAKEN UPON ARRIVAL AT THE SCENE OF THE Et•~ERGENCY <br />1. Communications should be effected with all rescue squads, <br />police and fire departments and national guardsmen. Full ad- <br />vantage should be taken of the services that these organizations <br />can render. <br />2.
