In addition, all previously notified public agencies, <br />company personnel and insurance representatives, e,ill be in- <br />formed that emergency conditions have been corrected. <br />MAJOR FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS <br />1. When responding to a report of a major fire or explosion, the <br />primary consideration should be the safety of custo~:.ars, the <br />public and employees. Personnel required to respond to this <br />type of call must be thoroughly trained in the procedure to <br />be followed in controlling and investigating the incident. <br />• The following actions and procedures should be considered: <br />a. Immediately upon arrival, establish contact with any fire <br />and police personnel on the scene. If company personnel <br />precede fire and police personnel arrival, veri,'y r,ith the <br />dispatcher that proper notice has been given these <br />agencies. <br />b. It must be determined immediately if gas is directly in- <br />volved in the fire or explosion. If gas is not involved <br />but is in close proximity, action should be taken to <br />insure the protection of the public and the affected facil- <br />ities. <br />c. If gas is involved and the presence is such that there is <br />• immediate danger to public and property, proceed to evacuate <br />-14- ' <br />
