Davis
Rimrock Coal Company
P. 0. Box 20611
Denver, CO 80220
Dear Mr. Davis:
I have reviewed the blasting plan and request to mine up to 50 feet
from the gas line located on your mining property. It is felt that as long
as your operation commits to keeping ground vibration at the gas line
location under 6.5 inches per second, the proposed blasting is acceptable.
We will provide the seismograph and monitoring personnel for the initial
blast work only described in the monitoring plan to measure that initial
blast. You will be responsible for all seismograph and monitoring
personnel for subsequent blasts.
We also have the right to inspect any part of the blasting operations
at any time to verify that the conditions outlined in the plan are being
met.
Raton Gas will remain liable for any rupture in the line on the
property.
Sincerely,
BATON GAS TRANSMISSION CO.
~~~
ck J'"Pery
President
JJP:dm
Enclosure: Blasting Plan Variance - Rimrock Mine
