• PART I <br />Page 1L of 19 <br />Permit No. CO-0000221 <br />MONITORING REQUIREMENTS <br />5. Acute WET Teatina - Outfalls 002. 003. 005 006. 010 and 011 <br />a) Testing and Reporting Recuirements <br />Tests shall be done at the frequencies listed in Parts I.B.l.a and I.B.l.b. <br />Test results shall be reported along with the Discharge Monitoring Report <br />(DMR) submitted for the reporting period during which the sample was taken. <br />(i.e., WET testing reaulta for the first calendar quarter ending March 31 <br />shall be reported with the DMR due April 28.) The results shall be submitted <br />on the Acute Toxicity Test report form, available from the Division. Copies <br />of these reports are to be submitted to both the Division and EPA along with <br />the DMR. <br />The permittee shall conduct each acute WET test in general accordance with <br />methods described in Methods for Measuring the Acute Toxicity of Effluents <br />and Receiving Waters to Freshwater and Marine Organisms, EPA/600/4-90/027 or <br />its moat current edition, except as modified by the most current Division <br />guidance document entitled Guidelines for Conducting Whole Effluent Toxicity <br />Tests. The permittee shall conduct an acute 48-hour WET test using <br />Ceriodaphnia dubia. Acute tests will be replacement static tests of a single <br />effluent grab sample. <br />b) Failure of Test and Division Notification <br />• An acute WET teat is failed whenever the LCS", which represents an estimate <br />of the effluent concentration which is lethal to SOt of the test organisms in <br />the time period prescribed by the teat, ie found to be less than or equal to <br />100k effluent. The permittee must provide written notification of the <br />failure of a WET test to the Division, along with a statement as to whether <br />the Preliminary Toxicity Incident ("PTI")/Toxicity Identification Evaluation <br />("TIE") investigation or accelerated testing is being performed (see next <br />section). Notificatioa must be received by the Division withia 14 calendar <br />days of the demoaetratioa of acute WST is the routine required teat. <br />"Demonstration" for the purposes of Parts I.B.S.b),c),d) and f) means no <br />later than the last day of the laboratory teat. <br />c) Automatic Compliance Schedule Upon Failure of Test <br />If a routine acute WET teat is failed, an automatic compliance schedule shall <br />apply. Aa part of this the permittee shall either: <br />(i) proceed to conduct the PTI/TIE investigation as described in Part <br />I.B.S.d), or <br />(ii) conduct accelerated testing using Ceriodanhnia dubia. <br />If accelerated teatiag is beiag performed, the permittee shall provide <br />vrittea aotifica[ion of the reaulta within 14 calendar days of completion of <br />the "Pattern of Toxicity•/•NO Toxicity demonstration. <br />• Amended 07 OB 94 Effective 9 O1 <br />Amended " ~_ Effective <br />
