The esti- <br />mated value Ss compared to a t table value (one tail) to evaluate vegeta- <br />tion success. If to is leas than or equal to the t table value, <br />revegetation success Ss confirmed. <br />The reclamation plan vas designed to be consistent with the <br />landowner's request to limn density of woody species on the reclaimed area <br />so he will not have to resort to shrub control measures. Shrubs will be <br />provided through planting with additional shrub establisTment due Co viable <br />root pieces transported in topsoil, shrub species in the 2 pound Dulk seed <br />additive, and invasion from adjacent undisturbed shrub communities. The <br />woody density standard for revege[ation success will therefore be 333 stems <br />per acre with 80 percent statistical confidence. If woody density on the <br />` reclaimed area is equal to or greater than 333 stems per acre, revegetatlon <br />Ir success for woody density will have been met. If woody density on the <br />`~ reclaimed area is less than 333 stems per acre, hypothesis will be deve- <br />loped and tested using the t-test comparison as described above. <br />Species diversity till be evaluated during studies for bond release <br />using both qualitative and quantitative criteria. The vegetation on the <br />reclaimed area will be a combination of seeded and w lunteer species and <br />both will be addressed in the species diversity evaluation. Both the spe- <br />ties richness and equitability component of speciea diversity will be <br />addressed during the evaluation. Seasonal variety of vegetation will also <br />be discussed. Quantitative evaluations of species composition and diver- <br />sity will be based on data gathered during the cover and productivity <br />sampling. , <br />• <br />A vegetation speciea list will be generated for the reclaimed area for <br />qualitative comparison with the premining and reference area species list. <br />38-38 <br />
