JERIS A, DANIELSON, DEPUTY STATE ENGINEER <br />SUBJECT: COTTER CORP. - jD-7 OPEN PTT, MONTROSE COUNTY, <br />APPLICATION FOR MINING AND RECLAMATION PERMIT <br />As requested by your office, we have reviewed the application for an open <br />pit uranium mine near Naturita. The applicant states (Exhibit G, page G-2) <br />that 71-~ ~ acre-feet of water annually will be required for dust control, <br />equipment washing, domestic and sanitary purposes. He then states that <br />"water for domestic use will be obtained from the Town of Naturita", but <br />does not mention the source of the water to be used for the other purposes. <br />If the runoff water and perched water (G-1) that will be collected are to be <br />used for mining purposes, the applicant must obtain the necessary water <br />storage rights and well permits prior to Board approval. <br />Hal D.
