Air monitoring equipment shall be installed and moni- <br />toring shall be conducted in accordance with the air monitoring plan <br />required under 30 CFR 780.15 and approved by the regulatory authority. <br />No air monitoring network is necessary or required. <br />~~ Section 816.97 Protection of fish, wildlife, and related <br />environmental values. <br />(a) Any person conducting surface mining activities shall, to the <br />extent possible using the best technology currently available, <br />minimize disturbances and adverse impacts of the activities on <br />fish, wildlife, and related environmental values, and achieve <br />enhancement of such resources where practicable. <br /> <br />As detailed in Section 779.20 (b), Kerr Coal has maintained <br />close contact with representatives of the Colorado Division of <br />Wildlife (CODW) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) <br />to minimize disturbance and adverse impacts on fish, wildlife, <br />and related environmental values and environmental resources <br />through the implementation of the best technology currently <br />available. The mine plan has been designed, to the extent <br />practicable, to accomplish these goals. Throughout the life <br />of the mine, Kerr Coal will continue to coordinate with all <br />interested regulatory agencies on a regular basis to further <br />advance the minimization of impacts and the enhancement of <br />fish and wildlife resources. <br />(b) A person who conducts surface mining activities shall promptly <br />report to the regulatory authority the presence in the permit area of <br />816-111 <br />
