Grazing wildlife and livestock crop these species so closely that the
production of viable seed has been observed only in isolated instances.
Due to the limited availability of seed and constraints on establishment of the species,
Kerr has proposed transplanting of the seven species identified on p. 780-115. Kerr
recognizes the desirability of these species and since seeding does not appear to be a
viable method of establishment, transplanting is the best alternative. Species to be
transplanted will be those presently encountered in the draws. Transplant material will
be obtained from a source outside the permit area.
Pesticides
If infestation by insect or rodent pests or noxious weeds becomes a problem, Kerr Coal
will consult with the Jackson County Weed Coordinator to determine appropriate
control measures.
