Farrell, Reclamation Specialist YJj ~~,yt~~, <br />RE: File No. M-88-115, Kit Carson County's "Ostrowski Pit", Kit Carson <br />County, Adequacy Letter <br />The following items must be addressed by the applicant in order to satisfy the <br />applicable requirements of C.R.S. 34-32-101 et seq. and the Mineral Rules and <br />Regulations of the Mined Land Reclamation Board: <br />Exhibit C - Mining Plan <br />1. Please salvage topsoil from the material stockpile area, west of the <br />River, such that future reclamation will be feasible. Oftentimes,a <br />gravel layer over the topsoil reduces the success of revegetation <br />efforts. <br />2. a. Please specify how the river will be mined, i.e., what equipment <br />will be used, how will the equipment enter and exit the river, will <br />the river flow be diverted, etc. If a berm requires construction <br />to divert the river, please contact the Army Corps of Engineers <br />regarding the need fora 404 permit. <br />b. Does the river flow on a continuous basis, or in response to major <br />precipitation events? <br />3. Please specify the distance to the nearestbridges upstream and <br />downstream of the proposed operations. <br />Reclamation Plan <br />4.
