It
formed in calcareous gravelly alluvium.
Typically, the surface layer is grayish brown fine sandy loam
3 inches thick. The subsoil is sandy clay loam or clay loam 16 inches
thick. The substratum is calcareous sandy clay loam 4 inches thick
over coarse sandy gravel or gravelly coarse sand. In some areas the
surface layer is loam.
Permeability of this Altvan soil is moderate. Available water
capacity is moderate. The
hazard of soil blowing is moderate.
Manter sandy loam, 0 to 6 percent slopes.
This deep, well-drained soil is on slightly dissected to moderately
dissected plains. It formed in calcerous loamy alluvium.
Typically, the surface layer is brown, sandy loam 3 inches thick
and the upper 13 inches of the subsoil is sandy loam.
Permeability of this soil is moderately rapid at the surface and
increases with depth. Available water capacity is moderate and the
effective rooting depth is 60 inches or more. Runoff is slow, water
erasion hazard potential is slight, and soil blowing hazard is moderate.
1
