<br />' EXHIBIT D <br />Mining Plan <br />' The applicant proposes to conduct an open pit aggregate operation in the <br />' area defined in Exhibit C-2. <br />The mining method will consist of stripping of top-soil and overburden <br />' (estimated thickness 0 to 18 inches), followed by bulldozer pushing and loader <br />' transport of the material to an on-site sizing and washing plant. The aggregate <br />will then be loaded in over-the-road trucks for transport to various projects. <br />' The area and direction of advance of mining are indicated on the mining plan <br />map. The extent of the aggregate deposit is indicated on the pre-mining map <br />by the shaded area as indicated by the Colorado Geological Survey Special <br />Publication 5-A, Sand, Gravel, and Quarry Aggregate Resources, Colorado Front <br />' Range Counties. <br />As the top soil and overburden are stripped, they will be stockpiled for <br />later use in the reclamation program. Stockpile areas are indicated on the <br />mining plan map. <br />Because of the relative paucity of the top soil, both the top soil and the <br />' overburden are being analyzed for potential use as growth medium in the <br />reclamation program. <br />' Mine phasing has been developed based on the assumption that two major <br />' contracts will be received. Neither have as yet put out for bids. These assumptions <br />are necessary because the bidding and bid evaluation process is much shorter than <br />' the process required to license the mine. If both of the contracts are received, <br />the area shown on the mine map will be mined out within one year. If one of <br />1 them is received but not the other, the affected area shown on the mine map will <br />
