State Rea.
the fill has been constructed as specified in the design •
approved by the Division. The report will include a description
of any appearances of instability, structural weakness, and
other hazazdous oand_itions observed during the inspection. A
Dopy of the report will be retained at the mine site.
The Wolf Creek Fill was inspected quarterly during critical
oon~iction periods as listed above. After the majority of the
Wolf Creek Fill was constructed and the underdrain was c~q~leted
(August 1987), work on the area ceased. Consequently, the
quarterly inspections also ceased. Minim has been wn~leted
adjacent to the fill and underdrain area, and therefore,
additional spoil will not be placed above the underdrain or in
the fill area. Work remaining in the area will be limited to
reclamation operations. The inspections will be reinitiated
when these operations affecting the Wolf CrePJc Fill or
underdtain as listed in 1) through 5) reccnt¢nertoe. These •
inspections will be conducted quarterly during critical
construction periods. Peabody will monitor the Wolf Creek Fill
quarterly for one year after final revegetation. Peabody will
then submit a request to CDM&G for approval to cease inspections
of the Wolf Creek Fill.
2.05.4(2) POS'Il~'IITTaIG TOPOGRAPHY. The Postrnining Contour Map,
(c) F~d~ibit 12-9 was developed by using a series of range diagrams
constructed perpendicular to the proposed mining pits.
The anticipated swell factor used in design of the postrnine
surface configuration at the Wadge and Wolf Creek pits is 15.3
and 19.8 percent, respectively. The Wadge swell factor was
ccn~uted by averaging the actual swells measured from five
cross-sec,-tions of a previously mined area of Wadge Coal in the
F}i of Section 34 a~ W= of Section 35 (see F~dzibit 12-3 for
location). The cross-sections and irrlividual swell factors are •
12-61a Revised 10/22/92
