The report presents the data obtained duri~ our
investigation and our reromnendations on embaNonent sections, slope
protection and other details related to subsoil conditions.
PI~PDSID CONSTI4JCTI0Ai
It is proposed to construct 14 emban)mients to impound surface
runoff and to control sedimentatiai fmn disturbed areas. The
earthfill embanlanents will be 5.6 to 9.9 feet in height as measured
• from the downstream tce of the embanlvnent. Ponca volumes range fran
3.8 to 39.8 acre-feet. Partial pond storage will be derived from
borrow excavation within the reservoir area. Elnbanlanents and spillway
design are based to safely discharge the 25-year, 24-hour precipita-
tion event with the exception of Ponds A and D whidh are designed to
safely discharge the 100-year, 24 hour precipitation event. The
generalized location of proposed embanlanents is presented on Fig. 1.
Small-scale site plans of the individual pord sites are presented on
Figs. 2 through 15.
SITE CO[~IDITI~7S
The embarilanents are to be located east of the existing and
• proposed Kerr Coal Company mine, which is approximately 10 miles east
