This should give me the time necessary to comply with your letter and
give you sufficient time to review my submissions.
The map maker, Terra Con Inc. of Dallas, Texas will need at least 2 to 3 weeks to
make the changes necessary for compliance.
I thought I might take this opportunity for a few comments on re-publishing
notice. The acreage will be less if there is a change. I can see new notice if additional
acres are included. Second, the area is all contained within the old CF&I Monarch Quarry
boundaries and is not encroaching on any new unmined area. The area is well known to
the residents of Chaffee County and the affected governmental entities.
Lastly, what do we do about any new complaints a new notice may generate? Are
we going to give them a second shot at us? I've always felt that one salvo is sufficient.
In addition to the adequacy situation, I am proceeding on the storm water matter.
I have reviewed the letter of December 8, 2000 from the Colorado D.O.W. Good
ideas, however, a growing medium is the problem. Perhaps the situation will arise at the
time of reclamation that will allow adequate funding for revegetation of the spoils pile
azea. Tthe letter will be incorporated into the file.
I'll be in touch.
~~k/
ne Co.
Cc: Johnney G. Bowers, CLC
A U.S. Lime & Minerals, Inc Company
