342-5 Critical Area Planting <br />Protection of planting. <br />Planted sites shall be protected from trampling and grazing until plants are <br />well established. In heavy-use areas, critical area plantings should be protected <br />by fencing or barriers. <br />Woody seedling transplants may be protected from rodents and browsing animals <br />by enclosing the plant in Vexar tubing or by painting with animal repellent. <br />The Vexar tubing must be anchored to the soil by means of a lath or long wire <br />staple to-prevent-removal of the tubing by wind..- - - -~ <br />TGN 11170 USDA/SCS/Colorado-7/81 <br />
