TAB 17
RECLAMATION SCHEDULE
Introduction
Teb 17 contains the timetable for each major phase of the reclamation plan and projected
reclamation schedules for the Hayden Gulch loedout facility permit area. Additional
information regarding the timing of rectamati on activities may be found in the tabs which
discuss the various components of the reclamation plan. For example, seeding periods are
spetifitally discussed in Teb 20, Revegetation Plan.
The current limits of disturbance within the permit area are shown on Exhibit 17-1. No
additional land disturbances associated with operation of the loedout facility are
contemplated at this time. However, an additional 8.4 acres may be disturbed during
reclamation to accommodate grading activities. Operations ere expected to commence June,
7993, end continue indefinitely. Because of the potential for new coal markets in the
future, the exact closing date end dates of final reclamation can not be predicted.
• However, Hayden Gulch Terminal, inc. will complete ell reclamation activities in accordance
with the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Lend Reclamation Board for Coal Mining in a
contemporaneous manner following permanent closure of the facility.
timing of Reclamation Activities
A generalized timetable of reclamation activities is shown in Figure 17-t. The timetable
depicts the sequence and timing of each major phase of reclamation. Precise specification
of the timing of each reclamation phase is not possible for the following reasons: t)
variables such ae manpower and equipment avai lebi lity, weather conditions end season, and
the availability of materials end supplies effect the progress of futilities removal,
grading, topsoiling, end seeding in the disturbance area; end 2) initiation of reclamation
activities is dependent upon when during the year operations ere terminated, end timing of
subsequent activities in the reclamation process ere effected by when initial grading end
facilities removal is completed.
Site clearing end topsoil salvage operations have been completed (the coal handling
• facilities were constructed from Fall 7977 to 1979); however, additional topsoil selvage
will be required prior to final bec kfilling end grading as described in Teb 19.
