Gravel Pit <br />Section 10, T35, R103W <br />The soils at this pit location is of the Rivra Soil Series. This is <br />a deep soil that is quite drouthy. It is quite a stratified soil <br />throughout ranging from fine channery loamy sand to fine very channery <br />sand. The percent of coarse fragments range from 20 to 35 percent <br />in the top 18" and range from 2 m.m. to 3" in size. The lower part <br />of the soil will have 35 to 50 percent of the rock fragemnts. <br />These soils are not suitable for revegetating and at least 1 foot of <br />suitable topsoil will be needed on top of this site for revegetation <br />to :establish. <br />There is a source of suitable topsoil within 100 yards of this pit <br />on the drainage floor. <br />
