Runoff is medium, <br />and the hazard of water erosion is moderate. <br />' 68 ROC& OUTCROP-CRYOBOROLLS COMPLEX, EXTREMELY STEEP This <br />unit is 60 to 70 percent Rock outcrop and 20 to 30 <br />percent Cryoborolls. Included in mapping are small <br />' areas of Cryoboralfs. <br />The Rock outcrop is hard bedrock of various parent <br />' materials, including granite, sandstone, shale, <br />mudstone, and basalt. <br />The Cr?oborolls are shallow to moderately deep over <br />' rock. They are well drained and are usually loamy and <br />stony. The average annual precipitation is 14 to 28 <br />inches and the frost-free period is 20 to 65 days. The <br />' surface layer is dark colored. In some pedons the <br />subsoil is clay loam. The depth to bedrock ranges from <br />10 to 10 inches. Reaction is slightly acid to neutral. <br />Runof' is rapid. <br />Hazard of water arosion is high. <br />' Thls gap unit is in capability subclass VIIIs. <br />' This Seep, well drained soil is on uplands. Tt formed <br />in colluvium and glacial drift derived form a variety <br />of rocks. The surface layer is loam about 10 inches <br />thick. The subsurface layer is loam about 5 inches <br />thick. The subsoil is cobble clay loam about 33 inches <br />thick. The substratum is cobbly clay loam to a depth <br />of 60_nches or morn. Permeabi'-itr is moderate, and <br />the available xater capacity is high. Rffectlve <br />rooti.g depth is 60 or Tore inches.
