Pratt:
As you are aware the Mined Land Reclamation Board reviewed and apprnved
your applications - all 23 of them: - for Pfining and Reclamation Permits
for your county gravel pit operations. I have prepared and enclosed the
permits. You should sign each permit and Wave it notarized and return
one copy to our files. The cease and desist order is no longer effective
and you may continue the development of your mining operation according
to the approved mining and reclamation plans.
The Board also accepted and approved your proposal to reclaim the 2z acre
site 7 miles north of Burlington on the east side of Highway 385. The
$1000.00 civil penalty will be suspended long enough to allow you to
complete the grading Df the site (to reduce all slopes to 3v:lh or gentler)
by the end of 1982 and to seed the area, using the Soil Conservation Service
seeding recommendation, early next spring. The $1000.00 civil penalty ~.aill
be waived when the reclamation of this site is complete.
I have enclosed another copy of a performance warranty and permit for the
"Wahl Pit", File 1f82-:L40, and you should sign each and return the performance
warranty and one copy of the permit.
Its a pleasure to have been able to help you get sRuared away- in this nwlcward
situation. Let me know if I can help again.
Sincerely,
Peter H. Evans
Reclamation Specialist
PHE:ys
Enclosures
