Twentymile Coal Company Water Quality Assessment 000042161
There were no upstream point source discharges to Fish Creek. Downstream, two facilities have
• point source discharges to Fish Creek with pollutants of concern in common with the Twentymile
Coal Company. Specifically, the Twentymile Coal Company also owns a Fish Creek Tipple mine
(hereinafter Fish Creek Tipple) that discharges to Fish Creek and the Seneca Coal Company has two
outfalls that discharge to tributaries to Fish Creek. These are summarized in Table A-6 below.
•
i~J
Table A-6
Facility Outjall ~>Latitudel Location in Relation, To Flow ;~ Iron
`Name and Injor- Longitude Twentymile Outfall OOI ~ Trec
CDPS No. mation Limit
Seneca 004, 40°23'55" Discharges to a tributary to Fish 0.21 1.0
Coal spoils 107°5'43" Creek. CYCC Water Quality Sampling Sites 302 and 1002, as shown in Figure A-1, are located in
Trout Creek downstream of the Twentymile Coal Company and Seneca Coal Company Outfall 004,
but upstream of the other point sources. A review of these data show no exceedances of water
quality standards based on WQCD review criteria. For this reason, the assessment of these sources
was conducted separately. Note, however, that later assessments may model these sources together
depending on further needs determined by the WQCD as discussed later in this WQA.
Twentymile Coal Company: The Twentymile Coal Company Outfa11001 is located at latitude 40°
22' 08" and longitude 107° OS' 48". Outfall 001 discharges a 30-day average flow of 0.78 MGD
(1.2 cfs) and a daily maximum flow of 1.58 MGD. Assimilative capacities are based on the average
flow of 1.2 cfs.
Appendix A Page 8 of 12
