Exhibit D -Mining Plan (Rule 6.4.4)
7. Please describe the methods of topsoil handling, protection while in stockpile, and any "live handling"
that will be performed (immediate placement of stripped soil onto another area).
8. Please state how much the pit floor area must grow before portions of it can reasonably be reclaimed.
Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan (Rule 6.4.5)
9. Your revegetation plan includes a seed mix which includes a rate of "PLS per acre," though that actually
refers to seeds per acre, not op unds of seed per acre. Please clarify that your rates refer to "pounds of PLS
per acre" in your proposed seed mix.
]0. If your final pit slopes are 3:1 but will not be 3:1 during mining, please state what the slopes during
mining will be. Also, if final slopes are created by cut and fill, please state what the setback distance will be
from the edge of the affected area to allow for equipment maneuvering.
Exhibit F -Reclamation Map1Rule 6.4.6)
11. Please show the features which will remain after reclamation is completed, such as roads, fences, above-
ground facilities and structures.
Exhibit J -Wildlife Information (Rule 6 4 10)
]2. As we discussed during the inspection, even though the local DOW officer does not consider this
operation to present any problem from the standpoint of wildlife, he has not provided you with such an
opinion in writing. Our rules require that such a written statement be provided by the applicant. If you
cannot obtain one, let me know so that I can attempt to contact him myself.
Exhibit K -Climate Information (Rule 6.4 11)
13. Please provide a summary of the average monthly temperatures and average monthly amounts of
precipitation.
Exhibit P -Municipalities Within Two Miles
14. Please provide the address and phone number for the governing body of the Town of Del Norte.
Exhibit S -Significant Structures (Rule 6 4 19)
15. It is recognized that several structures exist on the property line or outside the property, but within 200
feet of the proposed permitted area boundary. You have provided damage agreements for some of them, but
not for all. Please either provide additional damage agreements or engineering evaluations for them.
16. Do you expect percolation losses from the Rio Grande Canal or seepage into the pit? Please state what
the horizontal distance between them is.
Additional Items
Your written response to this letter plus all revised maps constitute additional application materials, which
must be additionally filed at the county clerk and recorder with your initially filed materials. Please file your
responses there promptly, and send me the receipt for this filing.
