<br />Site 5GF742 <br />• This site will be directly avoided by construction ac ti vitles; however, a <br />conveyor, powerline and project road will be constructed 300 feet (.] km) from <br />the site in the Munger Canyon drainage. <br />We seek your concurrence that there will be No Adverse Effect to the qualities <br />which qualify this site as eligible to the National Register because: <br />A. Photographic recordation of the rock art to archival quality and <br />standards. <br />B. The shelter will be mapped, including the rock art, and 100 percent <br />surface collected. <br />C. Monitoring of the site to assess any damages that may occur from <br />operations or vandalism. <br />Site 5GF741 <br />Is outside of the project area. It will not be directly impacted, and no <br />further work is needed. However, it will be monitored at the same time 5GF742 <br />is to assess any impacts that may occur from vandalism. If degradation is <br />determined to be accelerated due to result of these affects, Salt Creek Mining <br />Company would be responsible for affording the site protection by fencing the <br />area, or other means. including data recovery. We seek your concurrence that <br />there will be No Adverse Effect to the qualities which qualify this site to <br />• the National Register. <br />Research Objectives <br />Research objectives should include but are not limited to the following: <br />A. To determine the time periods of prehistoric occupation at the sites with <br />the goal of establishment of a firm regional chronology. <br />B. To define the cultural historical affiliation of the occupations. <br />C, To establish the season or seasons during which the sites were utilized. <br />D. To discern site functions. <br />E. To elucidate any relationship between the sites and establish any <br />placement and locational strategies. <br />F. To reconstruct as much as possible the paleoenvironmental condition that <br />existed during prehistoric utilization of the site area. <br />G. Any goals that will be outlined in the RP3 efforts. <br /> <br />
