Lauro, A.I.C.P. <br />La Plata Planning Commission <br />8y email: laurond@co.laplata.co.us <br /> <br />1977-44 <br />We, as adjacent property owners, appreciate being notified by your office of the application by Mr. Mel <br />Gunderson. Mr. Gunderson has requested La Plata County Board of Commissioners rescind Resolution <br />No. 1977-44 on a 19.825 acre tract owned by same. <br />We would like to officially notify your office and the Board of County Commissioners that we object to <br />any form of rescinding or alteration of the Resolution adopted by the Commissioners in 1977. <br />We feel strongly that any action to rescind or modify this Resolution in any way on this piece of property <br />would definitely NOT be compatible with the agricultural character of the area. The majority of the <br />property in question is on an extremely steep hillside terrain. Any subdivision for housing development <br />would have to be accomplished along and accessed by Airport Road (formally County Road 309) which <br />is the only access to the La Plata County Airport. This properly has significant history of inadequate <br />water in recent years. The existence of the Resolution was one of the favorable determining factors <br />resulting in the purchase of our agricultural property prior to Gunderson's arrival. <br />This particular area of La Plata County is most visible and designated use wise, as agriculture related <br />with the exception of the airport and small degree of light commercial designation.
