possibility cannot be ruled out because they are in hydraulic cam...+cation w~ each other. If
the persistent degradational change is measured at HGDA13 which exceeds 'storirally documented
ranges for SOy, TDS, and C1 at HGDALI and HGDAL2, HGT rill negotiate th CObSI as to whether Dry
Creek stream rater quality monitoring immediately above Walker tch should be implemented to
confiaa whether the alluvial aq~•; far incraaaes at the 1 pose an
y spatially significant
stream rater quality and use potential problems immediately the flood irrigated fields fed
by Walker Ditch.
The stream water quality adjacent to and immediatel below the loadout is suitable for livestock
use. Water grn+al ity trend analyses previously described will he utilized to de*~~+~~ if
persistent mncentration changes are occurr' that might exceed the liwsto~c use stan~+=M~.
persistent degradation changes to Dry C at Site HGSD3 will be considered significant if
liwatock ar~..aa..ia are exceeded, thus p lading the potential water vas. Theca impact trend
analyaea will be performed annually and 'tted as part of the annual hydrologic data reports.
The trend analyeea require a m+~+~T+ of four data points, so the first such analyses will not be
performed until 1995.
Surface Water Monitoring. Surf water monitoring at Sites HGSD1 and HGSD3 will be conducted
• s~+a~~vally (high snowmelt fl period between April and June and low flow period between
Sept®ber and November) until least four analyses haw been run for Site HG3D3. At that time,
only Site HGSD3 will contin to be monitored and it will be monitored aemiannvally. Parameters
to be measured semiannually include instantaneous diaChaLgB, field water quality parameters (pH,
temperature, and conducti ty) and the parameter suite presented in Table 13-1. Sample analyses
will be performed by a tract laboratory certified by the State of Colorado.
Ground Water Monitor' Ground rater monitoring at Wells HTi]Ai.l and H(~AL3 will be conducted
semiannually during the high and lox flow periods, as specified for surface rater, until at least
four analyses ha been run for Site HCg]AL3. At that time, only Site HQW3 will continue to be
monitored and it rill be monitored semiannually for rater levels, field water quality parameters
(pH, tempera and co+Kk~ctivity) and the parameter suite presented in Table 13-2. 3av~le
analyses rill performed by a contract laboratory certified by the State of Colorado.
NPDES Moni r~ The NPDES permit for the HGT rN.+..,.t facility (COCr850008), originally iaeued
to HG was renewed in 1992 with an effective date of July 1, 1992. HGT officially transferred the
NPDES 't from HG on November 6, 1992. HGT renewed the NPDES permit in 1997 with an affective
date o July 1, 1997 and a copy of the NPDES permit for the HGT I,oadOUt.
art' _ ~Q C/,rs..b.~..xf.P)
Vv", ~ 7 V~1~ ~ Revised 10/97
