Ron Allingham
Tuttle, Applegate, Rindahl, Inc.
11990 Grant Street, Suite 410
Denver, CO 80233
Dear Mr. Allingham:
9595 Nelson Road, Box
Longmont, CO 80501
February 10, 1969
EXHIBIT E
D
776-4034
B~ised on the soils which are present on the proposed mining site, I
have developed the following seeding recommendation:
5 ecies % of Mix *PLS/Ib/ac Lbs/ac
Switchgrass 25 x 4.5 1.13
Wt:stern wheatgrass 30 x 16.0 4.8
Alkalai sacaton 45 x 1.5 .7
*P'ure Live Seed
TFte above seeding rates assume that a drill will be used for seeding.
If a broadcast method is planned, the seeding rates should be doubled.
Seeding should be completed between November 1 and April 30.
In order to ensure a successful planting, some type of mulch or
temporary cover crop should be used. Soil Conservation Service
uses a sorghum cover crop planted in June with grass being drilled
directly into the sorghum in November. However, a straw mulch
can be effective if weed seeds are not present.
Soils should be tested for primary nutrients nitrogen, phosphorous,
and potassium, and fertilizer applied accordingly.
Sincerely,
~~~ ~~~~~
Dive Harris
Soil Conservationist
Dli: rah
O
1
