This temporary <br />seeding should be done at a rate of 15 total pounds PLS per acre. <br />It is highly recommended that the applicant coordinate weed treatmern plan developrr~nt and <br />implementation with Kelly Ilhing, Adams Coumy Cooperative Bxtension (303-637-8100), to <br />ensure compliance with the Colorado Noxious Weed Act. <br />Reclamation Re-Veeetation <br />For those areas to be reclaimed, it is recommended that 12 inches of topsoil be spread in lifts not <br />to exceed 4 inches and worked into the slopes to ensure good adhesion and to minimize soil <br />creep. In order to reestablish normal ieveis of microbial activity in the soil, compost at the rate <br />of one to two cubic yard per 1000 ft should be meted with the soil. If compost is not applied, <br />prior to seeding the topsoil should be tested to determnre the need for additional fertilizer. <br />Recommended grass seeding dates are from November 30m through Apri130th; seeding should <br />be done in unfrozen soil. A good quality grass seed drill with an agitator, depth bands and press <br />wheels is recommended <br />The following native grass seed rrrix and application rate is recommended for re-vegetation in the <br />soil types found in the mine areas. It is based on NRCS "critical area" seeding rates that are <br />double our normal rates. Please note that the Landscape plan map (sheet 4 of 4) in the <br />application under planned native grass mix lists Ihs (PLS)/ac, this column is actually 100% <br />PLS/ac.
