Lachhead
fxecWive DIfeC10!
Michael B. Long
Division Director
Dear Mr. Stockebrand,
After my recent inspection of the above-named pit, I recalculated
the estimated bond needed to perform the final reclamation of the
permit area. My estimate includes all grading, topsoiling, and
revegetation necessary to fully bring the area to its approved
post-mining land use, by following the plan approved in the file.
It is based on the amount of current disturbance, any reclamation
already performed, all based on what the approved plan in your file
presently contains. This means that whatever the plan does not
contain, e.g., the asphalt pavement, drainage systems, etc., must
have sufficient bond to remove them. You may influence the total
bond by beginning reclamation of some areas, or by amending the
plan, or by converting the permit into a 112 permit.
Your present bond is a corporate surety of $2,500.00. The new
amount has been estimated to be $13,207.00, reflecting an increase
of $10,707.00. For purposes of providing a warranty, this amount
may be rounded up to the next 100-dollar increment. The new
estimate is enclosed for your review. You may provide the
increased bond in the form of a rider to the existing bond, or may
submit a new one. If you need any specific forms, you may contact
this office. The increase must be submitted within 60 days. Call
me if you have questions.
Sincerely,
f
~~~ ~~~
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
enclosure: 4-page summary of estimate
a:\cor0896.rco/pl
