Type of vegetation covering the affected lands. <br />The predominant tree species subject to removal from the affected <br />lands are pinyon (Pious edulis), one seed juniper (Juniperus mono- <br />sperms) and Rocky Mountain Juniper (Juniperus scopulorum). A few <br />Douglas fir can be found on the Northeastern exposures. <br />Important shrubby species consist of both rubber rabbitbrush (Chryso- <br />thamnus nauseosus) and Douglas rabbitbrush (C. viscidiflorus), true <br />mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus montanus) and skunkbush sumac (Rhus <br />• trilobata). <br />MaJor grasses are Indian ricegrass (oryzopsis hymenoides), downy <br />brome (Bromus tectorum), needle and thread grass (Stipa comata), <br />New Mexican feathergrass (Stipa neomexicana), sleepy grass (Stipa ro- <br />busts), red threeawn (Aristida longiseta), squirreltail (Sitanion <br />hystrix) and blue grams (Bouteloua gracilis). <br />• <br />
