MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
Department of Natural Resources
t 313 Sherman St.. Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
303 8663567
FA%.303 832-8106
August 25, 1992
Mr. Philip C. Saletta
Senior Resource Engineer
City of Colorado Springs
Water Department
30 South Nevada, Suite 603
Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903
RE: Adequacy Letter, Hanna Ranch Pit #2, File No. M-92-074
Dear Mr. Saletta:
pF p0~
4. =-
Ne
.`~
/9'16
Roy Ramer.
Gavemor
Michael B. Long,
Division Director
I found very few technical deficiencies in your application. The deficiencies I found
are as follows:
A) I need a best estimate time schedule in Exhibit E as to when the
equipment (power lines, crusher, screen, etc.) will be removed from
the final phase acreage le.g., immediately after operations cease,
90 days after operations cease, etc.) and when final reclamation will
take place.
B) Need narrative in Exhibit E outlining the technique you plan to utilize
for soil preparation prior to seeding and weed control after seeding.
f C) Since the topsoil stockpiles are going to be undisturbed for about
5 years they should be graded, quick seeded with side oats gramma
and monitored for weeds to minimize erosion.
D) When avai~le, you need to remit proof of notice for the newspaper
publication, proof of notice to all the owners of record of lands that
~ are within 200 feet of the affected land and we need copies of the
original proof of notice to the County Clerk and Recorder, the County
J Soil Conservation District and the Board of County Commissioners
(we received a fax of the last three documentsl. Since the City of
Colorado Springs owns the surface and the minerals of the proposed
Hanna Ranch Pit #2, as well as some acreage surrounding the pit,
there is no reason to notify yourself or send us proof of notice.
_ ~~
IIIIIIII~~IIIIIIIII OF COLORADO
