Gz„'~.,3" AL: The folloxing information and recommenda':ions <br />apply to the four limestone quarries listed in Tit].e I. <br />These four sites have essentially the same soil and the <br />same natural plant communities. In addition, a separate <br />paragraph is included dealing specifically xith the. <br />Queens Cat~yon Quarry. <br />• B. Ir7Vr'R, v'TCRY <br />1. Soils <br />Paunaaugunt soils or soils similar to Paunsaugun.t occur on <br />the Queens Canyon Qnarrf, the Pikeview Quarry, the Snyder <br />Quarry, sad the Stack Land Quarry. <br />The Pauneallg'~nt soil is shallow and somexhat excessively <br />drained. It is formed is residium frrom limestone. <br />Typically, the surface layer is dark grayish b~ros~m gravelly ' <br />loam about 6 inches thick. The underlying layers are lighter ~ <br />I <br />colored very gravelly loama. Hard limestone bedrock usually ~ <br />i <br />occurs at a depth of about 17 inches. About 40 percent of the <br />surface is covered with gravel and flaggy material. <br /> <br />
