Trinidad, which is located on I-25, 15 miles north of the
Colorado-New Mexico Border, has clear skies and sunshine 80 per-
cent of the time. The average number of days between killing
frost is 156 days. This period starts in May and ends in
September. The prevailing winds are from the southwest at an
