2.04.6 (2)(a)(iv) A LOCATION OF SUBSURFACE WATER AND EXPOSURE
OF SUBSURFACE WATER AT FACE-UP AREAS
The following Coal Exploration Abandonment Report shows the hole
by hole subsurface water data. The exploration holes encountered
either no water, or minimal water, within the Vermejo Formation
to depths below the Lower Starkville Seam.
Minimal water is generated by the RntonCreekMine workings.
Water from theRa~onCreekNo.3Mineis' seasonal. The shallow cover, under
which all parts of the mine have operated, has contributed to the
seasonal recharge of the mine water outflows.
The Rston Creek No.l Mine waters are generated from near the portal
entries, predominately from 1920's old works. The inby areas of
the mine are dry. The flaws are also seasonal, further
indicating, that subsurface waters, to the entent such exist, are
not being drained.
1~
98
Re~•ised 5/93
