Daniels <br />031635 Albert Iuppa <br />022321F Sundance Coal Co. <br />Trinidad <br />Vermejo or <br />Trinidad <br />Trinidad <br />These wells were sampled due to their proximity to the permit <br />area, and potential to be affected by the mining activities as <br />represented by the local hydrologic gradient. Information on <br />additional area wells is presented in Table 3 and illustrated on <br />Map No. 19. <br />• From water quality assays in Table 4, the Iuppa well (NO. <br />031635) appears to be completed in the Vermejo Formation, although <br />the drill depth suggests penetration into the Trinidad sandstone. <br />Specific conductance, calcium and other ion concentrations of the <br />well water are very similar to those in the nearby Starkville <br />Gulch spring of Vermejo Formation origin. A flow rate of one gpm <br />also suggests a Vermejo completion. <br />The Daniels well was sample <br />sandstone water quality down dip <br />to sample the nearby R.
