NORTHWEST COLORADO CONSULTANTS, INC.
•

Project: Haul Road Y-A
Location: Hayden, Colorado
Client: Seneca Coal Company
Work Performed:
Project No.: 95-2384
Report No.: 22
Date: 9/15/95
Time: 2.0
Mileage: 30
Engr./Tech: JK
As requested, we visited the project site and conducted nuclear density test No. 55 on the material being placed
for subgrade fill.
At the time of our visit, the contractor was cutting material from Sta. 977+00 to Sta. 101+00, and placing and
compacting from Sta. 91+00 to Sta. 94+00.
Remarks:
The material tested generally met project specifications with moisture contents being 3.8% below optimum. The
contractor was advised to increase moisture slightly to achieve easier compaction. A sample was obtained and
returned to our laboratory for checkpoint Proctor determination. The results did not match any previous curve and
a Standard Proctor and classification was performed (Sample No. 5).
Please refer to the attached sheet for results of today's testing.
Verbal Discussions:
Chuck McCulloh of Seneca Coal Co. was notified of today's test results.
