INTRODUCTION <br /> The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co. (P&M), a wholly-owned subsidiary of <br /> Gulf Oil Corporation, herewith gives Notice of Intent and requests approval to conduct <br /> coal exploration operations in TSN, R86W, 6th P.M., Routt County, Colorado, during the <br /> period of 1 July 1983, to 31 October 1983. <br /> The proposed operation is known as the Fish Creek 1983 Exploration Program. <br /> The purpose of the exploration is to obtain information about the coal and hydrological <br /> conditions in this area, pursuant to the future establishment of an underground coal <br /> mine. <br /> Copies of this submittal will be filed simultaneously with the following agencies: <br /> 1. Colorado Division of Mined Land Reclamation <br /> 2. Board of Land Commissioners, State of Colorado <br /> • 3. Planning Department, Board of County Commissioners <br /> of Routt County <br /> Also filed will be an "Operator's Notice of Activity" with the Colorado Division of <br /> Mines, and appropriate well construction applications with the Colorado Division of <br /> Water Resources. <br /> It is intended that this submittal meet the requirements of all agencies; however, <br /> the information provided is most responsive to the Regulations of the Colorado Mined <br /> Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. In further response to those regulations, <br /> P&M Coal Mining Co. stipulates: <br /> 1. Less than 250 tons of coal will be removed during the proposed exploration; <br /> and, <br /> 2.
