• EXPLORATION OPERATIONS
Operations are scheduled to begin in early July, but not before all permits,
licenses and approvals are obtained.
Established roads and trails exist throughout much of the proposed exploration
area; these routes will be used to get as close as possible to the preselected locations.
Cross-country travel will be limited to the necessary minimum using the gentlest grades
and most stable terrain. Vehicular travel will not occur when excessive damage to
vegetation or rutting of the land surface may result. No new roads will be constructed.
No heavy earth-moving equipment will be used to gain access to the sites.
Care will be taken to avoid disturbances which could result in additional
contributions of suspended solids to stream flow and runoff.
The proposed 1983 Exploration Program consists of two separate activities:
1) Seismic Lines; and 2) Hydrologic Monitoring Installations. Specifically, the
operational descriptions are as follows:
Seismic Lines
Two seismic lines are planned for the Fish Creek area generally running from the
southwest to the northeast, diagonally, and south to north on the western edge. The
operation consists of drilling 30-foot deep shot holes approximately fifty to one hundred
feet apart. The holes are loaded with one-third pound of dynamite, wired and charges
fired. The seismic recording truck registers the reflected readings. The crew and
equipment list consists of the following:
1 supervisor
I shooter and helper
1 seismic recording truck
2 swamp buggies for drilling
3 pickup trucks
• 1 wire truck
1 survey crew
PR-31-10 -10-
6/10/83
