RE: Resumption of activity at Vollmer Pit -Schmidt Construction Company
Permit: M-1983-035
Dear Sixs:
On October 27, 2000, this operation was placed in temporary cessation. Since then the site has remained in
compliance with the temporary cessation requirements. This has been reflected each year in the annual
reports. In behalf of my client, Schmidt Construction Company, it is requested that this site be removed
from temporary cessation. This was briefly discussed in the recent annual report as a possibility. Although,
fox the time being, activity at this site will remain at a low to moderate level with some additional mining
occuxring_toward the east from the current working face, it is expected that activity here will increase to
provide materials for upcoming known projects. No changes in the existing mining ox reclamation plans in
the permit axe needed therefore the original requirements contained in the permit will remain fully in effect.
The current bond is considered sufficient to cover the resumption of activity. Much of the site, as shown in
the annual reports, is in essentially a final reclamation condition with excellent vegetation cover and fully
controlled erosion.
