The use of a crimper will
depend on the amount of crushed rock that occurs in the regraded surface layers.
After mulching is complete, shrubs and trees will be planted adjacent to
the base of the 1 to 1 slopes for erosion control and aesthetics. Either 3 or
' 4 types of shrubs will be planted in one spot at 9 to 10 foot spacings; and
single trees will be planted at 10 to 12 foot spacings. Scattered plantings
of additional shrubs on the S to 1 slopes will also be done.
' The trees and shrubs recommended for the Hogback Mine are as follows :
SPECIES RATE (Trees or shrubs/acre)
SHRUBS
Mountain Mahogany
' Skunkbush Sumac
Choke Cherry 360/acre
American Plum
' TREES
Ponderosa Pine
Pinon 120/acre
Juniper
' RECLAMATION TIMETABLE
' The reclamation will immediately follow each mining phase. There should
be no more than two years lag between the completion of the mining stage and
' the reclamation of the previous reclamation phase (i.e. , when Stage 2 of mining
is completed, the reclamation of Phase 1 will be completed within 2 years) .
' 1J
