The
reclamation plan for this site is as follows:
Eiiu;ifinn: This site is native rangeland and classified as a
Loamy Plains range site; cattle are currently grazing the area.
There are signs of previous disturbance around the windmill that
lies east of the abandoned house at Todd Point and at two cut
banks; north of the windmill. The site slopes to the east as
evidf>nced by the recent runoff of two drainages through the site.
$p11:i: This site consists of Baca loam soil, map symbol BcA.
Baca soils are deep, well drained, and nearly level loamy soils.
Land classification is IVe-7.
YE9E~:Bf1IIn: The potential plant community on this site is 80-90%
grasses, 5-10% fortis, and 5-10% shrubs air-dry weight. Plants
presesntly growing include galleta, blue grams, red threeawn, sand
drop=_~eed, broom snal:eweed, slimtlower scurfpea, rabbitbrush,
prickly pear cactus, yucca, and fourwing saltbush.
HEELNN]AII4d:
It should be noted that once gravel mining is initiated, all
disturbed areas must be reclaimed whether you disturb the area or
not.
$1.tE_.2LEP3L3f1IIn: Reclamation of the pit should be made by
smoothing all banks to no mare than 2:1 slopes and should be
flatter where feasible and practicable. The topography should be
made smooth with no spoil piles or pits present.
III259 ].11119: Topsoil should be spread uniformly over any
disturbed area to a packed depth of 6". This should be increased
to 8" - 10" over e~:p osed bedrock. In the event that e;;isting
soils have insufficient depth, topsoil shall be brought in and
spread over the deficient areas.
