Bo;: 225 <br />Haswell, Colorado 67045 <br />Dear Delcarl: <br />I e::amined the proposed gravel pit site near Todd Point in <br />the SW1l4 NW1/4 of Section 25, T205, RS5W on ]une 24, 1991. The <br />reclamation plan for this site is as follows: <br />$1):11 B.11IIf1: This site is native rangeland and classified as a <br />Loamy Plains range site; rattle are currently grazing the area. <br />There are signs of previou=_ disturbance around the windmill that <br />lies east of the abandoned house at Todd Point and at tl,~o cut <br />bank=- north of the windmill. The site slopes to the east as <br />evidenced by the recent runoff of ti+ro drainages through the site, <br />$nils: This site consists of Baca loam soil, map symbol BcA. <br />Baca soils are deep, well drained, and nearly level loamy soils. <br />Land classification is IVe-1. <br />YE3Ef 3f1IlII: The potential plant community vn this site is 60-90> <br />grasses, 5-10% fortis, and 5-10~ shrubs air-dry ~ereight. Plants <br />presently growing include galleta, blue grams, red threeawn, sand <br />dropseed, broom snal::eweed, slimflower scurfpea, rabbitbrush, <br />pricl::ly pear cactus, yucca, and fourwing saltbush. <br />@EELAtlBII4d: <br />It should be noted that once gravel mining is initiated, all <br />disturbed areas must be reclaimed whether you disturb the area or <br />not. <br />;21fE_eYEE3Y3lil2I1: Reclamation of the pit should be made by <br />smoothing all banl::s to no more than 2:1 slopes and should be <br />flatter where feasible and practicable. The topography should be <br />made smooth with no spoil piles or pits present. <br />III2~II.l.1.1.I19: Topsoil should be spread uniformly over any <br />disturbed area to a paci:ed depth of 5". This should be increased <br />to 6" - 70" over e;:posed bedrock:. In the event that e:;isting <br />sails have insufficient depth, topsoil shall be brought in and <br />sprea~j over the deficient areas. <br />
