t'ou are absolutely right. This Cottonwood pit is a proposed groves minln`g
operation, and Mr. Dick Stenzel n your office is the person who advised that a
well permit should be applied for.
The application to mine this property is being prepared, to be submitted to the
Weld County Commissioners. Mr. Bob Brand for the District 6 tiVater Users
ai BoulderCrcek has been apprised of this, and he has reviewed the preliminary
applicatien. Westem Paving has made a verbal agreement to supply ditch users
for evaporative compensation, and prior to miring, Westem Paving will sign a
formal agreement with the District 6 Water Users. Westem Paving has more than
adequate water rights for the augmentation for this operation.
In regard to ditch reformation you requested ruder Item I2, the ditches that
historically irrigated this land, and which we own, will cmtnue to do so even
after min hg, except for the waters that we may use n the augmentatim agree-
mentwith the District 6 Water Users. At this date we would assume that o
formal agreement will be reached approximately the first of next year, of which
time we can make that agreement a part of this applicatim.
