I work better around the ranch, <br />around horses and cows and stuff, but I've worked <br />real well with people. I'm an emergency medical <br />technician. I chose that when I moved back to San <br />Luis five years ago. <br />My name is Prax Ortega. My family has <br />owned property in San Francisco and ranched there ten <br />miles from the ranch site, so it's up here on the map <br />(indicating). <br />We have some property on the top side <br />for more than a hundred years, our family has, so I'm <br />proud to say I'm a local resident, a local native, <br />whatever. <br />I take them daily walks to Rito Seco <br />Park so I'm real concerned. The Indians do it or <br />have done it. Us with heart conditions or don't have <br />heart conditions we like to walk because that's <br />healthy for our heart so I take that daily journey. <br />We also have a ranch down here for the <br />past fifty years that we pay taxes. That's why we <br />work hard, maybe have a calf, sell it and it all <br />just about goes out for taxes. <br />So we may be small ranchers here, but <br />we manage and have not lost, many of us in the <br />community yet -- residents that have not lost their <br />
