J <br />TYPICAL BLOCK SEAL <br /> <br />1, 16"x8"x8" cinder blocks <br />with mortared joints to be <br />used in construction. <br />2. MSHA accepted sealant to be <br />applied to both sides of <br />seals. Sealants will be " <br />applied at least 1/8" thick. <br />3. A 1"x12" plank may be used <br />as a footer board if neces- <br />sary. <br />4. Seals shall be hitched into <br />the ribs at least one (1) <br />foot on either side. <br />5. One seal, at the lowest ele- <br />vation, of each set of seals <br />ATTERN shall be installed with one <br />i BLOCK water drainage pipe.- This <br />drainage pipe shall be: <br />a. 4" in diameter <br />b. Of corrosion resistant <br />material equal to schedul <br />40 steel pipe. • <br />c. Equipped with a U-tube <br />water trap. <br />d. Capped or sealed with a <br />valve at the pipe's out- <br />let. <br />6. One seal, at the highest ele- <br />vation, of each set of seals <br />shall be installed with one <br />surveillance tube. This <br />surveillance tube shall be: <br />a. ;" in diameter if copper <br />or ~" in diameter if <br />schedule 40 pipe or <br />equivalent. <br />b.
