~~ ~~ <br />Mined Land Reclamation <br />WCT - Page 2 <br />No permanent pond will be created. <br />The present drainage enters the pit area and runs in a channel <br />armored with gravel until it cuts into the bedrock, This <br />channel will be maintained to prevent erosion. <br />The Division of Wildlife Assessment will be supplied as soon as <br />it is available. <br />Much of the site at present is planted to peach trees which are <br />not productive, annual weeds including kochia, f.oxtailr tumble- <br />weed, morning glory, asparagus, orchard grass, sunflower and <br />alfalfa. <br />Plant species at the edge of the field where excavation is to <br />begin include kochia, four wing salt bush, shadscale saltbush, <br />rabbit brush, greasewood, sagebrush, and Indian rice grass, <br />vegetation along the drain include tamarack, cottonwood Chinese <br />elm, russian olive, saltgrass, and willows. <br />EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan <br />The final agriculture use will be as irrigated agriculture <br />land. If a 3:1 backslope is used, the amount of. land available <br />for irrigation will be decreased, It is requested that the <br />proposed 2:1 slopes be allowed. As requested, one foot of <br />overburden will be placed on the slope. <br />The Soil Conservation Service indicated that in this <br />application for protecting the slope from erosion the two <br />introduced species will provide superior service in fast growth <br />and compatibility with surrounding agriculture, <br />The final land use as agriculture will be irrigated grass <br />hayfield on the pit floor.
