The McVey Gravel Pit
was located in Section 17, T 9 N, R 71 W, 6"' PM, the Paul Nauta Gravel Pit was located in Section 34,
T 10 N, R 70 W, 6a' PM and the Rainbow Gravel Pit in Section 32, T 11 N, R 76 W, 6~` PM: Each was
found incomplete on October 10, 1977.
The DMG is unclear as to whether these pits were ever mined by Larimer County although the county
did apply for pemuts on these sites on the same day they were found to be incomplete.
I would appreciate it if you would check your records to see whether the County ever mined these sites
after October 1, 1977 if the operation was started before July 1, 1976.
If you have any questions regazding this matter, please contact me.
Sin rely,
ount
Senior Environmental Protection Specialist
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
