Term of Lease. The primary term of this <br />lease shall be four (4) years from the date hereof, <br />unless sooner terminated or extended in the manner <br />hereinafter provided. <br />(a) Extension of Lease. If the Lessee has, prior <br />to the expiration of the primary term of Lease, begun <br />production or begun development toward production <br />within the leased premises and all other requirements <br />of the Lease Agreement have been satisfied, and Lessee <br />makes written request for an extension of Lease within <br />60 days of the date of expiration of the Primary Lease, <br />Lessor will grant in writing to Lessee an extension of <br />the Lease for an additional four (4) year period. <br />Successive four (4) year extensions of the Lease <br />will be granted based on the same requirements as the <br />first four (4} year extension; however, the total length <br />of the Term of Lease shall not exceed sixteen (16) years. <br />Article 4. Possession and Control of Property. <br />Lessee shall have, and it is hereby given and granted, <br />the right to enter upon and take over immediately the <br />sole and exclusive possession and control of the leased <br />premises and the whole and every part thereof, and, <br />-2- <br />
