Box 1790 <br />Ouray, Colorado 81427 <br />RE: Camp Bird Mine <br />FILE: No. 82-90 <br />Dear Sirs: <br />This is formal notification of the action taken by the July 21, 1982 <br />Ptined Land Reclamation Board. <br />The Board approved the following conditions and granted your request <br />for continuance. The conditions to be addressed are: <br />1. That the operator have a professional stability investigation <br />performed at the tailings dam and a suitable design be provided for <br />future expansion. <br />2. That the operator provide staff with a caster quality analysis of~ rceeiua <br />the water in the pond (once milling begins), baseline water quality ~~ <br />of the stream above the pond, and from the stream down gradieatfrom <br />the toe. (The frequency and chemical data required under your NPDES <br />permit will be acceptable.) Also, if seepage from the toe of the <br />embankment occur, it too shall be sampled. <br />3. That a specific plan fer stabilization and .reclamation of the ~ ~ ~x~ <br />tailings pond be worked out with the staff. ' <br />
