For the record, we would
like to remind the applicant and any governmental entities reviewing this
proposal, that a landfill in unincorporated Douglas County is required to receive
Use By Special Review permit and a Certificate of Designation permit by the
Douglas County Board of County Commissioners. As of yet, the applicant has
not filled an application with this office for either the Use By Special Review
permit or the Certificate of Designation permit.
Further, we are concerned that the proposed landfill would be located within the
active Robinson Brick Company Ute mine. It is our understanding that Robinson
Brick Company has demonstrated a right to mine clay within the affected
property. The applicant needs to provide documentation that this proposal would
not affect the ongoing mining operation or has otherwise come to some
arrangement with the Robinson Brick Company concerning their lease to mine
clay on this site.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me at 303-
660-7460.
Sincerely,
~~
Don Moore
Senior Planner
100 Third Svee[.
