Section 785.19 (d) Continued.
•
which receives ephemeral drainage from a portion of the existing
Marr Mine Area. Since all of these areas receive drainage from
disturbed areas, the regulations requiring baseline data collection
for a material damage determination would apply. The information
provided under this Section, along with information provided under
Parts 779 and 780 of this application, documents the character-
istics supporting the essential hydrologic functions of affected
alluvial valley floors in the adjacent area.
Based on the information accumulated in the reconnaisance and field
investigations and the baseline data collection program, the ef-
fects of the proposed mining and reclamation plan on alluvial
valley floors downstream from the mine plan area have been evalu-
ated. The proposed mining will not directly impact any alluvial
valley floor; however, the possible indirect effects of mining on
• the essential hydrologic functions of the three subject areas which
contain alluvial valley floors are discussed. Supporting data used
for the material damage determination is summarized in the discus-
sion, and can be reviewed under the following Sections:
Geologic data (from 779.14 and 785.19 (c) ).
Soils and vegetation data (from 785.19 (c) ).
Surface water data (from 779.16 and 785.19 (c) ).
Ground water data (from 779.15 and 785.19 (c) ).
Operations and reclamation plan (from 780.11 and 780.18).
Agricultural land use (from 779.22).
In accordance with 30 CFR 785. 19(d), the following discussion is
divided into five major sub-headings: Characteristics Supporting
Essential Hydrologic Functions; Agricultural Significance; Poten-
tial Material Damage; Effectiveness of Reclamation; and Environ-
mental Monitoring.
785-33
