Seifert and Fred Lowry
~~~~~,(~ ~n
YY
~T`~
~.
The above named applicant is filing application for a construction materials (sand/gravel) operation on
upper Smith Gulch in Fremont County. Application is being handled by Barnhart Agency, Pueblo, CO.
The applicant/operator proposes to reclaim the affected land to residential use. I have reviewed the soils
and site information and offer the following comments.
1. There are two soils on the site; #7 Boyle, very gravely sandy loam and #8 Boyle, Martinsdale
complex.
2. The descriptions for both soils rates them as poorly suited to homesite development. The main
limitation being rather shallow depth to bedrock. This limitation maybe a severe restriction to
operation of conventionai septic tank absorption fields.
3. Cn-site percolation tests are recommended and additional engineering may be needed to properly
plan a suitable sanitary system. No acidic or toxic forming material are shown on the soil survey.
If additional information is needed, the applicants should feel free to contact this office.
Sincerely,
~~
R~~ er
Contract Conservationist
Q, meyl ~ . ~orX .emu a~vcL/ ~a
rrll ~ f
~~ble I~ -rani ¢ry aP~l ~F'
CC~,(rColorado Division of Mineral 8 Geology, Denver.
